Getting to Know You EDD526-20-21-1S

 GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER

Hello, there EDD 526 MY SMART LEARNERS!!!

Welcome to Seminar in Complex Organization class.

The mode of the study in our course is guided independent study with some collaborative learning in the form of "synchronous" and "asynchronous" online discussions and other learning activities.

"Synchronous Learning" is an online or distance education that happens in real-time.

"Asynchronous Learning" or not synchronized or not occurring at the same time through offline modalities or online channels without realtime interaction.

Learners in an asynchronous discussion log in and post their contributions to the discussion whenever they wish to, instead of conducting the discussion at the same time as in a chat or video conferencing. However, there is a specified number of days for each discussion forum and everyone is expected to join the discussion within that period. We will agree when to conduct our synchronous learning if you are ready to finalize the schedule as we are expected to have a maximum of four (4) sessions for that.

Meantime, our first activity for this course is to know one another. Let us share information about ourselves:

  • Name
  • Nickname (how you want to be referred to)
  • Educational Attainment/ Discipline
  • Work Background
  • Present Location
  • Expectations (from the course, faculty, learning strategies, etc.)
  • Other relevant information that needs to be considered in the course (social roles performed, learning conditions, etc.)
  • I expect each learner to post one separate response to this forum. But you are also very free to comment on your co-learners' posts.

I look forward to a lively discussion and fruitful learning in this class.

God bless everyone!

N.B.

If you are also enrolled in the Fiscal Management Class, I still encourage you to do this activity. Thank you very much.

  5. Magandang Buhay!

I am Hermie Galit-Duran, married, with 3 bubbly kids. I am presently residing at Tugatog, Orani, Bataan with my own family, finally! I am actually a graduate of AB Psychology with MA in Guidance. I spent 15 years of my professional life in a private institution before I finally decided to work in DepEd.

At present, I am one of the Senior Education Program Specialists-SGOD at SDO Bataan assigned to School Management Monitoring and Evaluation.

The organization has a nature of being volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous, and disruptive. As a leader it is indeed a challenge on how to keep the organization healthy and balance in order to serve its purpose. I believe this course will offer opportunities and learning on the concepts and principles of effective leadership, different leadership styles, theories in management, and the importance of effective communication in managing changes and uncertainties.

God bless and good luck for a fruitful semester!

It is my first semester of this academic year. Even though it’s a pandemic season, I realized that pursuing my studies would be a great choice, I should remain mindful that academic environments offer one of the best places to explore my capabilities.
For me, this course will give me an opportunity to learn and understand the complexity of organizations that have many people, processes, rules, and strategies which probably have dynamic and interactive relationships. I am sure that I will learn a lot with the guidance of our competent course professor, Dr. Fronda.

  7. Good day everyone!

I am Niña Marie M. Mesina, you can simply call me Niña. I have lived in Olongapo City all my life that is why this is where I pursued my teaching career. I’m a Teacher III in Kalalake National High School - Senior High School, SDO of Olongapo.

This is my first trimester in the EdD. program and in BPSU, I took the opportunity of having distance learning here since I know that the institution can facilitate growth in areas that I specifically needed.

I trust that this course will help me pin out all the necessary skills one might need as an educational leader. I’m well aware of the fact that leading an organization or an institution requires decisiveness, a strong will, and capability of dealing problems in a multidisciplinary setting. Knowing that these values will serve as the foundation of our leadership, it is vital that we develop a critical understanding of the principles and theories of the organizational situations that needs to be managed.

Being in this course, and having a competent professor gives me confidence that we’ll emerge as effective educational leaders under any circumstances.

    Thank you and God bless.

Conceptually speaking po, framing an organization is indeed a complex role of a leader. Thus, I am anticipating po that attending this course will equip me with the needed tools, points and reminders towards better understanding and dealing with the many complexities and challenges associated within organizational system.

  11. Blessed evening everyone!

I'm Aurea-Palad Galaboc, my friends call me Rhea, Atty., Batas and Taray, but you can call me Rhea na lang po dito sa klase po.

With the guidance of our Almighty God, I'm now in my 36 units for this semester under Doctor of Education Program, major in Educational Management.

I'm a Master Teacher II and presently working at Cabcaben Elementary School. This is my 26years in the service in DepED.

My home address is #1 Felicitas St., Cabcaben, Mariveles, Bataan.

I know that, in this lesson, it will help me think and analyze about the limits, limits to what we can know about our association, organizations or in DepEd system. And if there are limits to what we can know, then there are of course limits to what we can achieve the way we planned it.

  12. Christian greetings of peace and prosperity.
I am Bryan Bulanadi, you can call me Bryan. I graduated at BPSU-Main last June 5, 2020 with the degree MAED in Language education. I have been teaching at Mariveles National High School-Alion since 2017 as teacher I.
Definitely I do not have an idea on the subject or course because it is further from my field of specializations. But for me, an organization is an extremely complex system. As one observes, an organization seems to be composed of human activities on many different levels of analysis, personalities, small groups, inter groups, norms, values attitudes that all appear to contribute to exist in an extremely complex multi-dimensional pattern. This complexity seems at times beyond comprehension. Yet, it is very complex. On other hand, the basis for understanding organizational phenomena and makes life difficult for the admin (heheheeh). With the privilege given to me I am hoping after this semester this subject will hone me to be a better teacher or a leader in the future.

  13. I am Cheryl Ruiz Garcia. Che as what most of my friends and acquaintances usually call me. I am a Master Teacher II from Cabcaben Elementary School. It is my 3rd semester in EdD.
I am very confident that I will learn, relearn, and understand deeper the complexity of organization through this course with a knowledgeable and considerate professor. As what the simple definition of organization states that it is a goal-directed, boundary-maintaining, socially constructed systems of human activity. I hope that my learnings will deepen especially on how to act as a leader with a deeper perspective on the different facets of education. Aside from that notion, the new knowledge that will be taught in this course will help me come up, on my own little way , better plans that may help the present educational system. And I am looking forward to another fruitful educational travel through this course.

  15. Greetings of solidarity!

I am Rechelle V. Forbes and you may call me Forbs (the American pronunciation of my surname). I recently got my diploma on Master of Arts in Education major in Language Education at BPSU last commencement exercises. It is my first semester as an EdD student, so please bear with me.

Currently, I am a junior high school English teacher in Mariveles National High School Cabcaben. I am in public educational institution for just four years which means I cannot hardly bank on my experience regarding educational management and complex organization in particular.

Corollary to this, I am expecting to learn fruitfully from this course. I am expecting for a worthwhile exchange of knowledge which will widen my spectrum of what educational management, specifically Complex Organization, is all about.

Moreover, I expect myself to be a transformed individual whose wisdom is of value to the Department of Education.
